About Michelle

Michelle is a native Nevadan and daughter of the late Joe Zito from NY, a professional/touring drummer all his life, he had Michelle learning to read music at age 5 and playing brushes with his rehearsing jazz combo in their living room shortly thereafter.

Michelle has lived and played in Reno most all her life, playing her first pro gig, a variety show with legendary Jack Taylor and the Dixie-Cats, at the Cabin In the Sky, Virginia City at age 14.Michelle also played drums/percussion with a 100 piece honor orchestra out of Vegas while still in high school, taking 1st place overall for the state of Nevada as an honor band drummer.

Over the years she has played, performed, recorded with many locals in various genres from jazz to blues to country, funk, folk and everything in between! She has performed with Lacy J Dalton as part of the Country Western Cruise /Holland America lines, played Jazz and Blues with the Late Ron Perry of Martha's Children, drummed for multi award winning band Precious Metal, an all original rock extravaganza. Opened for Lydia Pense and Cold Blood, Coco Montoya, Three Dog Night, Debbie Davies, Alistair Green, Eddie Money, Tommy Castro, Foghat, Samantha Fish, Tab Benoit and more. She works independently to this day and is proud to be playing with Big Eddy, "Playing those horn-based tunes I've always wanted to play!"
